Our Call for Clarity
The single most important factor that goes into producing our stories and characters is the human experience. It is an irreplaceable factor, no matter how computing advances into the future.
Because some modern technologies may seem to compromise this perspective, companies that employ processes described as “AI”, for example, have a responsibility to set clear and understandable guidelines for usage, both in products and internally.
Here are ours:
AI in our Products
1. Voices
- With Love uses models trained on our own voices for our characters generated responses. We record hours and hours of our own vocals and use a model fine-tuned on our own property — not that of others, not on previously copywritten material, and not without explanation for explicit privileges and usage terms defined in advance.
2. Responses
- With Love uses a model fine-tuned internally based on the work of our writers (with transparency), for the purpose of personal character responses and letter-responses from our characters to our users. All fully generated text, which appears minimally through a user's session is marked with text reading: "I try my best but I can make mistakes sometimes" with an informational page for transparency, which you can read here. Users are never deceived into believing these responses come from a human. Fully-generated text is paired with extensive human-written content to provide personal character responses and unique experiences for each user.
3. Moderation
- With Love uses moderation technology that utilizes AI to ensure platform communications between pen-pals is safe. These systems review anonymized text input to create a community environment devoid of harassment, sexual content, violence or threats. Users may also directly report any letter for review. We let the user know when their content is being reviewed, both through automation or manually.

- With Love promises full transparency with our staff, stakeholders, and partners regarding the continued usage of AI involvement in our projects moving forward.
- With Love promises adherence to strict data privacy and security standards when using any AI systems, as well as compliance with necessary data protection laws and regulations. Read more here.
- With Love may use AI for non-artistic purposes, such as code review, business services, budgeting, administrative tasks, etc.
- With Love strives to produce content intended for all audiences from all backgrounds, meaning we monitor and review generations made by models used for social, racial, and ethical biases and explicit content.
- With Love will adhere to copyright and intellectual property standards or regulations.
- With Love will strive to encourage these ethical tenets to our internal team members, and may conduct training or business operations to ensure these principles are upheld.
